Targeted Intervention Program by NACO & USACS

The Targeted Intervention Program funded by Uttarakhand State AIDS Control Society (USACS) and National AIDS Control Society (NACO) was conducted for the Labor Migrants on generating awareness on HIV/AIDS in Pithoragarh in the month of January 2010. The objective of the program is to disseminate information and prevention of HIV/AIDS, TB and Sexually Transmitted Diseases. The organization is currently working with 10000 migrants under The Targeted Intervention Program. 12 to 15 S.T.I health camps are being conducted each month in different places. Free testing and medicines are provided under the supervision of doctors during these health camps.

 

Nukkad natak is conducted each month at pre determined places in which actors and the program staff disseminates information in an entertaining way on HIV/AIDS, STI, TB, and other diseases. Advocacy with key stake holder meetings are conducted each month with the administration and other stake holders on the frame work and to discuss the issues concerning the migrants.
